May 12 – Veteran's Benefit Motorcycle Ride  | 9am at Richard's Coffee Shop. 165 N. Main Street. $20/bike pre-register or $25/bike at the door. Event is free to public. Call 704-663-0488 for more information.

May 17-19 – Grand Opening Events  | 9am - Welcome Home Veterans Military Museum at Richard's Coffee Shop will have its Grand Opening and Chamber Ribbon Cutting at 165 N. Main Street. Joe Galloway, combat correspondent and author of the book "We Were Soldiers Once" with the movie by the same name featuring Mel Gibson will do a book signing. Event is free to all. May 18 – Outdoor Concert to kick off Race City Festival  |  Live music in John Franklin Moore Park (corner of Main St. & Center Ave) from 5-10pm.  Matter of Fact, Rare Form, Loose Change & From a Seed will all perform. Bring your blanket or chair and sit outside for an evening of awesome music.  No coolers or alcoholic beverages allowed. Brought to you by the Mooresville Downtown Commission, Big Hat Larry's Guitars, Music & More, and the Mooresville South-Iredell Chamber of Commerce.

May 19 – Race City Festival  |  An outdoor street fair along Main & Broad Streets. Bring the family, friends and neighbors!! There is something for all ages and plenty of eats and things to see, do and enjoy the sounds and tastes of a true festival atmosphere. May 19  – Concert during Race City Festival  |  This year's Race City Festival will feature a "south stage" entertainment area from 9am-5pm.  Set up at the corner of Main St. and Center Ave. listen to Spongecake and the Fluff Ramblers, Heartbeat, Rusty Knox & Rare Form.  Brought to you by the Mooresville Downtown Commission, Big Hat Larry's Guitars, Music & More, and the Mooresville South-Iredell Chamber of Commerce.

May 20  – Lake Norman Orchestra  |  Presents "Spring into the Classics". The concert will feature a variety of selections from popular classical composers such as J.S. Bach,  Beethoven, Gershwin, Richard Wagner and others.  In addition to the wonderful music, there will be homemade treats to enjoy during the intermission. Make plans now to bring the entire family for an afternoon of classical music. Charles Mack Citizen's Center at 3 pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under the age of five are admitted free.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or advance tickets are available http://lkno.wikispaces.com.

May 26 – Movies on Main | “Cars”.  Charles Mack Citizens Center, 7pm. Free.
While traveling to California for the dispute of the final race of the Piston Cup against The King and Chick Hicks, the famous Lightning McQueen accidentally damages the road of the small town Radiator Springs and is sentenced to repair it. Lightning McQueen has to work hard and finds friendship and love in the simple locals, changing its values during his stay in the small town and becoming a true winner.
