MISSION:  The Mooresville Downtown Commission creates, facilitates, and promotes the vibrancy of the heart of Mooresville through engagement, support, advocacy and leadership.

ECONOMIC POSITIONING STATEMENT:  Modernizing within the context of historic preservation, Downtown Mooresville is racing forward to build economic vibrancy through creating synergy with local businesses and residents while engaging with partners to support creative entrepreneurship.

PROUD TO BE AN OFFICIAL MAIN STREET COMMUNITY!

And 2025 makes us an even more impactful Main Street Community!   Downtown Mooresville has been chosen as the host community for this year's North Carolina Main Street Conference. The three-day conference, held annually in March, is organized by the NC Department of Commerce and its NC Main Street and Rural Planning Center and is the largest statewide downtown revitalization conference in the country.  Want to be a part of the event? Volunteer opportunities are available!

The Mooresville Downtown Commission (MDC) proudly announces designation as a Nationally Accredited Main Street America™ program again this year.  This accreditation status is Main Street America’s top-tier recognition and signifies a demonstrated commitment to comprehensive commercial district revitalization and a proven track record of successfully developing an asset-based economic development strategy.  The MDC began active partnerships with both state and national “Main Street” programs in 2009, and the Board of Directors, partners, and volunteers have worked diligently for several years to meet the rigorous performance standards required for the reputable mark of distinction, earning the status in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Downtown is the heart of Mooresville. And the Mooresville Downtown Commission (MDC) is the pulse. The MDC is a partnership of merchants, property and business owners, volunteers, neighbors and local leaders who work together to promote, cultivate, advocate and care for Downtown Mooresville.  The MDC acts as a conduit between property owners, businesses, community leaders, and state and national organizations to ensure Downtown remains a vibrant asset for the Town of Mooresville.  We couldn’t accomplish what we do without our Board of Directors and volunteers!
